This free seminar discusses how you can support your business-critical decision-making in Life Science R&D with extraction of scientific facts and relationships from unstructured text, using the Linguamatics I2E text mining platform supported by workflow tools from Accelrys Pipeline Pilot. The agenda includes presentations from both Linguamatics and Accelrys, as well as an invited speaker presentation from Jagruti Patel, Hoffmann-La Roche. Jagruti will outline a success story involving both I2E and Pipeline Pilot, using queries to compile gene expression information from combined sources in order to validate internal gene expression studies.
Example workflows using newly developed I2E Pipeline Pilot components will also be introduced and demonstrated.

Intelligent Answers to Drive Business Decisions |
Linguamatics’ I2E enables the extraction of business-critical facts, relationships and intelligence hidden in unstructured text in support of information-driven decision making. Using I2E, researchers can do much more than simply cope with overwhelming quantities of information. I2E's unique combination of search and text mining can turn this information into a competitive advantage by providing the ability to answer questions and discover knowledge that would be impossible or intractable to find using conventional methods. I2E’s powerful natural language processing (NLP) capabilities go beyond keyword searching to mine large and often complex collections of documents, extracting relevant facts, relationships and entities from unstructured and semi-structured content to support critical decision-making.
About Accelrys Pipeline Pilot
Pipeline Pilot, Accelrys’ scientific informatics platform, was designed for scientists by scientists. It aggregates and provides immediate access to the volumes of disparate research data locked in silos, automates the scientific analysis of that data, and enables researchers to rapidly explore, visualize and report research results.
Pipeline Pilot and its integrated set of applications address the modeling and simulation, informatics and scientific businesses intelligence needs of research and development organizations. A key strength of the platform is the ability to manage and synthesize scientific information in a way that allows you to rapidly adjust workflows, optimize research cycles and respond to changing market conditions.
